WAKE UP EARLY!

Why should you wake up early?

The answer is quite obvious. You have to wake up early to shine above the rest. To improve your skills and talents. To stay in the race. To reach your professional and personal goals. To be more confident. And to be more productive.
Now, you must be thinking of how these things are connected. Whether you believe it or not, everything in this universe is intertwined and connected.

Our brain produces electric impulses often referred to as waves or brain waves. When you wake up early, for the first few minutes, your brain operates at around 10.5 waves per second. The range from 8 to 13 Hertz is called the Alpha wave state. ( Alpha wave state means being calm and composed.) When you wake up your mind is between theta and alpha. This state is like a gateway to your subconscious mind. In this state, your mind is capable of deep and effective learning. And you can focus effortlessly.

And for the first 20 minutes, your brain is in its best active state. That's why, when you learn something early in the morning, you can't forget it that easily. For, it penetrates deep in your brain. Literally.

How does getting up early affect your

professional and personal life?

According to studies, more than half of the population in the world wakes up after 7 am. For, by 8 am, people are expected to be in their workplaces, schools, and colleges. So, they usually wake up around 7 am. And they choose to wake up on someone else's terms. Not because they want to.

What about successful people? Well, most of them wake up at 4 am. In one way, it's the ideal time to wake up. They wake up early because they want to. Not because someone else is expecting them.

1. Additional hours

As previously said, the majority of people wake up at 7 am. So, if you wake up at 4 am, you will get 3 more hours than the rest of the world. In three hours you can do many things. You can make the best use of that time by doing something productive. You can exercise, meditate, plan your day, hone your skills, etc. And moreover, you are working while your competitors are still asleep.

2. Improves creativity

Morning is the time when your subconscious mind is most active. During this time of the day, your brain gets flooded with creative ideas because in this time, you are capable of focusing effortlessly. For, your mind is calm and free of distractions, at least for the time being. And your subconscious mind might give solutions to the troubles that haunt you.

3. Brings peace and calm

At other times of the day, you are distracted and disturbed by many things, activities, and people. So, peace becomes a diminution to you. Morning is the time when you can feel and enjoy peace. You will have the world for yourself. And nothing to disturb you.

4. Curb bad habits

When you wake up late, you feel dreary and less motivated for the rest of your day. So after 8-9 hours of constant work, you feel so exhausted that you crave other bad habits to relax your mind and rejoice your mood. You eat unhealthy and processed food, spend hours binge-watching, scroll through social media sites, etc. You let these mindless distractors affect your productivity thus making you sleep late and get up late. And this onerously tiring cycle goes on.

But, if you wake up early, you sleep early. You leave no room for unhealthy things in your life. Thus, you can curb bad habits.

What is the ideal time to sleep to wake up early?

To get up early, you need to know why you should sleep early.
According to studies, an average human being needs 6- 8 hours of sleep. So the time between 8-10 pm is the ideal one to get to bed.

2-3 hours soon after sunset, your melatonin levels increase. This increase in melatonin levels tells your body that it needs to rest. By 10 pm, this reaches its maximum increase. Consequently, your metabolic activity increases aiding repair and regeneration. If you sleep before 10 pm, you will benefit the most. For, the span between 10 pm to 2 am is known as regenerative sleep. After 2 pm your sleep quality deprives.

If you sleep after 10pm, you will have very few hours of regenerative sleep left. Thus, by disturbing this natural cycle, you are harming your harmony.

"Early to bed and early to rise makes you healthy, happy and wise", said Jeff Bezos. Try to wake up early. It's good for you. While most of the successful people are early risers, there are successful night owls too. It doesn't mean you have to follow everything you read, see or come across. You can alter things according to your schedule and as per your choice.
